Your Japanese candies are almost there! This email explains what was in the box, so it could be a bit of a spoiler.

The items in the box are: Melon Caramels, Shaka Gummies, Yaokin Kinoko, Orion Plums and All rare Squid & Mayo.

Orion Plum Feeling Candies

Plums are a Japanese delicacy. While they're enjoyed all year long, it's often regarded as a summer treat with the likes of watermelon and strawberries. They're really tiny, but big on sweet and sour Japanese plum flavor. My cat Brienne took a swipe at them and sent them flying everywhere while I was setting up the photo, so I'm sure I'll be finding them around the apartment for the next month.

Yaokin Kinoko Stick

Kinako is one of the most uniquely Japanese flavors I can think of. Kinako is roasted soybean flour that is most commonly used with dango and Japanese mochi treats, or even as a topping in ice cream. It's not exactly sweet, but it's not exactly bitter either. This chewy candy stick is also another of the nostalgia style candies for Japanese adults.

All Rare Fried Squid & Mayo

Have you heard of peanut butter and jelly? Well, now you can try mayonnaise and fried squid. This salty dried squid snack is crispy and salty. Another favorite with adults and kids alike. Apparently cats too since Brienne swiped it and ate it before I could take a decent picture. Note to self: Take candy pictures when the cat is sleeping.

Morinaga Melon Caramels

Have you heard of Fried squid and mayonnaise? Well, how about fruity melon and caramel? These individually wrapped soft chew candies have a sweet caramel taste with a strong kick of fruity musk melon. They melt in your mouth and burst with rich flavor. These are limited edition so enjoy them while they last!

Kabaya Shaka Shaka Gummies

Is there no better feeling than shaking the heck out of something? Now you can get your shake on and enjoy gummies at the same time with Shaka Shaka Gummies. The fruity (and cola) flavored gummies are nice on their own, but if you pour the sugary powder on them (included inside) and give it a nice big shake, you'll get an even sweeter taste with a hint of sourness.

I'm officially on vacation. That means the next week will be devoted to World of Warcraft followed by a week in the Philippines with my girlfriend. So I don't have anything very interesting to share with you until the next shipment, but please enjoy this picture of my family. They're not perfect. We don't always agree on political or social issues, but we're always there for each other. Until the treat bag comes out. Then it's war.
