Nov 28th 2015 | A Real Treat From Japan. I Mean They Always Are, But...

This month's shipment was a box containing three items. This shipment will likely arrive around the end of December or beginning of January. The contents featured chocolate strawberries, zany string candy, and a wonderful traditional treat made from green tea and sweet beans.

Lotte Strawberry Chocolate Sticks

Double layer chocolate sticks with a splash of strawberry flavor. Sometimes simple is best. Don't ask me what the cute little space guys are doing on the packaging because I have absolutely no idea. The back also features a cute little game for Japanese children to learn English.

Unlike where I'm from, learning a second language is kind of a big deal in Japan. Need help? Konnichiwa! Arigatou! Sayonara!

Kracie String String Candy

Grape and Muscot flavored strings! Twist and tie them together to get peach flavor. How's that possible? Science! I chew on these for quite a while like gum, but it's actually a lot more like taffy.

Matcha Azuki Chocolates

Matcha should be pretty well known by now for the Candy Japan initiated, but for the uninitiated it's green tea. A staple of Japanese culture. Azuki, Japanese sweet beans are often paired with the flavor for a unique Japaese taste. These confectionaries toss in chocolate for an even tastier mix. Each package comes with a handful of the the tasty beans inside.

I saw Star Wars. It was without a doubt the single most greatest, whimsical, nostalgic fueled moment of my entire life. The moment the opening credits started I was in disbelief. It was surreal, like I was watching the best fan film ever made.

Star Wars is huge in Japan, and all over cosplayers were dressing up over opening weekend. I had tickets booked a few months in advance, but I'll definetly be going again. This time in 4D. I barely even know what that entails, but you can bet sweet Christmas I'm excited for it.

Do you like Kit Kats? I think you might, because we get asked to send those all the time.

I'm very excited that I managed to find a supplier through which we may be able to buy special regional Kit Kats to send to you in February. It's not 100% certain, but looking very promising.

Usually the problem is that the special Kit Kats are exclusive only to certain areas and very expensive. But this February I plan to try sending you some anyway :)
